What's My Story?
It's simple: I own this pond. I am the master of these bullrushes. If you get too close, I'm going to say something. And I'm going to say it loudly. Don't tempt me. And if you approach my nests and wives, I'll come straight for your head. You don't want that, do you? I didn't think so.

Artist's Note:
Red-winged Blackbirds truly are the most obnoxious of birds...but they're also quite pretty, which makes them great subjects for painting. As I look at this painting, I can almost hear their call: "I'm over heeere!" At least, that's what I hear them saying.
